The Pride Celebration is underway. You can find all of our Pride Month episodes wherever you listen to podcasts or right here on the website.
This year, for most of us, Pride is going to be a little bit different. As a response to the global pandemic, cities across the country have either postponed or canceled their annual Pride events.
While we draw strength from the unity of gathering together every year during the month of June, it’s important to remember our strength is innate – the pride we have is something we always carry with us, no matter the time of year.
That being said, it’s a little sad that we won’t be able to go to parades, dance with friends, check out go-go boys, or buy overpriced rainbow t-shirts and tchotchkes.
So, in the interest of spreading a little bit of that feel-good rainbow joy, this year the Big Gay Fiction Podcast will be programming special bonus material throughout the month of June.
In addition to our five regular episodes, you can expect special mini-episodes featuring some of the most popular authors of gay romance fiction. There will also be narrators and other special guests. It will be like a Pride-themed literary festival, but digital – and available to listen to whenever is most convenient for you.
Finding new ways to celebrate Pride during these unique and difficult times is undoubtedly a challenge, but it is one that we can undertake with passion, creativity, and an open heart. This year, whether you are celebrating with friends, or by yourself, we hope that you’ll consider us part of your year-round Pride family.
Together, we are Pride.

- June 29 (ep 245): Lauren Shippen talks about The Bright Sessions universe, including the novel The Infinite Noise
The month caps off with the release of June’s book club pick on June 30 (we’ll announce the pick on June 1).
For our 15 bonus episodes, we’ve got a line up of favorite authors, narrators and members of our extended podcast family.
We have authors sharing readings: Adriana Herrera, TJ Klune, Jay Northcote, Rick R. Reed, Julia Talbot, BA Tortuga, Silvia Violet, Max Walker and Julian Winters.
Narrators Kirt Graves and Joel Leslie offer excerpts from their audiobooks.
Slade James from GayRomance.show, Markie and Jess from Top to BOTM Podcast and Sarah Wendell from Smart Podcast, Trashy Books share books that are meaningful to them. Sarah also has a special guest joining her.
All of our guests throughout the month also share what Pride means to them.
Bonus episodes start on Wednesday, June 3 and run Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays through June 26. TJ Klune kicks off the bonuses and he’s got something extraordinary planned (and yes, the pun is very much intended).
You’ll be able to keep up with all the pride month programming wherever you listen to podcasts and at BigGayFictionPodcast.com/pride2020.
We hope you’ll join us!
