These are pictures that we shot during the parade on June 30, 2002. As you can see it was a beautiful day in the city and there were huge crowds for the 4 mile walk from 52th Street @ 5th Avenue down to Christopher @ Greenwich Streets. We marched as part of the New York City Gay Hockey Association (NYCGHA).
The most poignant moment of the parade came at 2pm when the entire parade came to a halt, all the music was stopped and we observed a moment of silence for those lost to AIDS. A single church bell tolled for 30 seconds, followed by another 30 seconds of quiet. It was amazing how quiet New York could be.
