Guilty Pleasures

Since I’m such a fan of junky movies, it should come as no surprise that I enjoy junky TV as well, though I sould clarify that there is a difference between good junk and bad junk. Gilmore Girls and Lost have both turned into seriously bad junk. The offerings on My Network TV are the good kind of junk and they don’t pretend to be anything but fluff. Jeff and I enjoyed the Bo Derek vs. Morgan Fairchild antics of Fashion House and we recently began watching the new show Watch Over Me. Not only does Watch Over Me feature a cast of hunks (see picture at left) but Omar Avila was recently introduced as the gay brother of the shows female lead, former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres. We’ll have to wait and see how important Avila’s character becomes to the shows romantic and action-oriented stoylines. Also in the cast are the real life husband and wife team of Casper Van Dien (the himbo from Starship Troopers) and Catherine Oxenberg (Amanda from Dynasty, the ultimate TV guilty pleasure)
