This week has been some good Bluestreaking. My wrist shot is making some improvements. I’m starting to improve my aim finally. I’ve been working hard this week on shooting high in corners, really going for the post usually since that’s what last week’s skills competition involved. It’s getting better. I’m also seeing more often that my weight transfer is better and the pop in the wrist is better. Of course, it’s not 100%, but I can see it coming together more and more. One of the things I really need to work on is being able to do all this while moving since standing still is getting better on a pretty consistent basis.
Treadmill got more challenging this week too, but I kept up with it and the feedback has been positive. Ronnie said something last Saturday that I’ve really tried to take to heart this week: Try to get your elbows on your knees while you’re skating. That was extremely helpful advice because it helped give me a stance I can focus on when I’m not in front of a mirror like I am on the treadmill where I can see exactly what’s going on.
Get some extra Bluestreak help this week too as Shane is going to come out an coach the Ordinals and Wizards on Saturday night. This should be a big help for our game!
