I’m looking forward to August. Yup… It’s true. I’m looking forward to what is typically the hottest month of the year. But with good reason this year, we’ve got our vacation plans set and it’s off to Provincetown, Massachusetts for us.
Not only have we read a couple novels that take place there, but our friend A.J. has gone a couple of times and talked up what a great time it was. This year, we’re going too.
We’re going in the busiest time of the year there, Carnival Week, so there will be lots to do. All sorts of celebrities show up to perform, there is a parade… but there’s also the quieter side of the city to enjoy too with the ocean, the beaches and the galleries to check out.
We’re staying at a great looking inn, The Red Inn (also at A.J.’s recommendation). Both of these pictures are from the inn. I love this deck shot and can see spending some time just lounging, appreciating the water and the breeze.
We’re both psyched about this. We didn’t vacation last year because work was too crazy for me to get enough time away. So this year we knew we had to do something to get away together. It will be our first time since our trip to Montreal for the 1st World Outgames in 2006.
As the trip gets closer and we get a sense of the things we’ll be doing there, I’m sure we’ll post more about that. In the meantime, it’s comforting to know we’re actually getting away for a bit this year.
