It was a much better week for biking as the weather returned to something less gross than the previous week. We actually had morning temps in the high 60s/low 70s and a decent breeze so the rides were pleasant.
Nothing extraordinary really happened during the week. I managed to ride four days of five (Monday was the skip day as usual). I also rode to the rink Saturday night. Happily tropical storm Danny fizzled out so the rink ride wasn’t a washout, though I did get sprinkled on coming home and given that I was overheated from the games that was okay.
I’ve also decided that the current worst pedestrians in Manhattan are on Broadway between 37th and 35th. There’s something about that blocked off area in front of Macy’s that makes pedestrians thing they can walk anywhere they want. They don’t seem to get that between 35th and 37th, there’s a bike lane, a sidewalk and a seating area in the median. Pedestrians need to open their eyes and pay attention to what’s around them.
