Last week I reviewed the great year that was 2014. Now it’s time to look forward to the year that begins later this week.
Much of my 2015 plan that revolves around writing and laying the foundation to make my writing into a sustainable business. You can read about those plans over at Jeff Adams Writes.
The biggest thing happening in 2015 is that Will and I celebrate the 20th anniversary of our first date, which was May 1, 1995. I can’t believe that so many years have rolled by since that first date to see Village of the Damned. It’s been awesome and I love him even more now. We’re trying to decide what we’re going to do to mark the milestone. And I certainly look forward to our future milestones, such as 25 years together in 2020.
As I mentioned in the 2014 review, I need to get my fitness in shape and treat it as something as critical as my writing goals are. I need to carry 30-40 pounds less. That’s a fact. The majority of my problem isn’t working out, which I do, it’s that I don’t eat right. Weeks I eat right, the weight comes off. Weeks I don’t I stay even, or gain. The weeks I eat right must be the majority of weeks. Rather than five days not eating right, it should only be a day or two. I’d say this is the most important personal goal I have for the new year.
I’m also planning to ride in 2015’s Cycle for the Cause. I’m already training on a stationary bike to get the muscle memory in my legs built up again since I didn’t ride too much in the last half of 2014. Finding long distance riding partners is also underway since I’d prefer not to do a 50+ mile training ride solo. I see it as a potential challenge to raise $3,000 for an NYC charity while living in California, but I’m ready to meet that challenge because the cause is important to me. I’ll also find out the process of shipping a bike across the country, too. So, don’t be surprised if you see a lot of donation asks in the coming months.
I’ll continue to work with Redwood Curtain in the coming year on their board of directors as well as being their website/social media handler. I’ll also look for other non-profits/causes to work with more locally as well.
So there’s what my personal goals of 2015 look like. Stay tuned to see how it goes.
Happy New Year!
