This week featuring
J. Scott Coatsworth
We open by congratulating two LGBT-themed books that won RITA Awards over the weekend: Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy’s Him, which won for Mid-length Contemporary Romance, and Alexis Hall’s For Real: A Spires Story, which won for Erotic Romance.
The Reebok CrossFit Games are coming this week (July 19-24) in Carson, California and we talk of our love of the competition and our CrossFit crush on Mat Fraser. Plus we point listeners to the documentary about last year’s games, Fittest On Earth, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
J. Scott Coatsworth is here as part of the GRL Blog Tour. He talks about his latest short story, which is part of the A More Perfect Union anthology, as well as his work in the Queer Sci-Fi community.
Daniel Schloss & Charlie Sohne join us to talk about their award winning comedy pilot, Truth Slash Fiction. They discuss the origin of the show, what the process has been like to shoot and shop the show at festivals and where they hope it goes in the future.
We remind listeners that there’s a poll running through July to find out who listens to the podcast. Everyone should also enter the Big GRL Blog Tour Giveaway.
Remember, you can listen and subscribe to the podcast anytime on iTunes, Google Play Music, Stitcher, PlayerFM, YouTube and audio file download.

*gasp* Scott made me sound so mean! LOL
Great interview!
Thank you for linking a picture of Mat in your show notes. He is adorable.
Jeff-How do you remain so professional during your interviews? If I were talking to Mr. Coatsworth I would have been fangirling all over the place. I’m sure it would have made for a great blooper show at the end but seriously. I have no clue how I’m going to hold myself together at GRL.
Truth Slash Fiction sounds very interesting. I’m now jealous that you two have seen it!! 🙂
Hi Christina!
Yes… Mat is adorable! And he won CrossFit Games this year too which was awesome to see.
Interviews…here’s my secret. I was a journalist for about a decade before I shifted careers to work on internet projects. Part of that time was spent working for a couple of TV guides and I learned quickly how to keep myself together when interviewing celebrities. You freak out before and after, but not during.
Truth Slash Fiction is so incredible. We really hope Daniel and Charlie get the backing they need because it’s kind of a perfect show.
