Jeff and I announce that the May 2020 Big Gay Fiction Book Club selection will be Romancing the Rough Diamond by Clare London. Jeff shouts out a recent episode of Tea & Strumpets, which featured KJ Charles’s Band Sinister.
We then discuss several historically significant gay documentaries, Studio 54: The Documentary, Cherry Grove Stories and Circus of Books. Jeff reviews Layla Reyne’s Variable Onset as well as the new children’s book The One and Only Dylan St. Claire by Kamen Edwards and illustrated by Jeffrey Ebbeler.
Emma Scott discusses her book Someday, Someday, including the research she had to do in order to write about the many elements the book tackles, including opioid addiction and conversion therapy. Emma also talks about what got her started with writing and her shift from fantasy to romance.
