Episode
For the first time in weeks the guys manage a podcast without an interview segment–meaning nearly all the talk is theirs!
Jeff kicks it off with news about how his writing is going, then it’s a final shout out to Tammy Middleton’s Author’s Sign Off for Autism Awareness, which raised more than $3,000 dollars for Autism Speaks.
Will reviews The Cattle Baron’s Bogus Boyfriend by Nicki Bennett. The Tony Award nominations came out and Jeff & Will spend some time dissecting them before moving on to discussions of The Real O’Neals, superhero shows and the delightful comedy, The Intern. Archie Comics also gets a shout out for its upcoming series featuring gay character Kevin Keller, who will also show up in the CW’s pilot for Riverdale.
Lisa from The Novel Approach stops by with book recommendations from Jordan L. Hawke, Andrea Speed, Charlie David and S. Hunter Nisbet.
Jeff discusses the idea of authors using video-based content, as well as seeing reviewers in the romance genre producing video reviews. Will recaps some of the learning he’s doing–including a book about romance writing from Gwen Hayes and a course from Dean Wesley Smith.
Remember, you can listen and subscribe to the podcast anytime on iTunes, Stitcher, PlayerFM, Google Play Music, YouTube and audio file download.

Hi Jeff and Will! Just wanted to say I’m loving the BGF podcast. Only discovered it recently, after the shout out on the Joyfully Joy newsletter and I’ve been binging ever since and I’m now up to date (yay!). Its the perfect andedote to the post weekend blues.
I discovered MM romance about 2 years ago and been hooked ever since. So I’m loving the interviews with authors. You’ve already featured some of my favourite authors (Kindle Alexander, Sara York) and I hope some of my other favorites will feature in the future. What I really enjoy about BGF is that you don’t just stick to MM romance. I love that you talk about theatre, TV and writing as well. I’m a big theatre buff here in London, I love US TV show (tho alas not the reality stuff but I agree Nyle is hot) and I’d love to have my own MM romance published one day.
Keep up the great work!!
Hi Julie! Thanks so much for the awesome comment. We’re glad to be your cure to post weekend blues. We’ll do our best to keep the good stuff coming your away every Monday. And you should definitely start writing the romance that’s in your head and get it out into the world!
Are you guys fans of Daredevil or Jessica Jones on Netflix? I really have enjoyed both of them! Other than that…Flash is my favorite superhero show right now.
We’ve watched part of the first season of “Daredevil” and, while we like it, we haven’t finished it. Haven’t tried “Jessica Jones” even though we hear it’s good. But yes…. “Flash” all the way!
