Discussing TV and Books – BGFP episode 86

Kit & John of ‘Eastsiders’

This week Jeff and I had a chance to talk with the guys behind the Eastsiders series, Kit Williamson and John Halbach. They’re running a Kickstarter (till June 6th) to fund the production of season three, which we are really looking forward to.

We also interviewed the duo that make up the writing team of Ari McKay. They talk about their latest book, Breaking Bonds, which is part of the Dreamspun Desires line. In addition, we get their origin story, how they approach collaborating and what’s coming up in 2017. There’s also a bonus 10 minutes of the interview, which appears in the podcast feed, on YouTube as well as the shownotes page.

TV opinions and Rick R. Reed – BGFP episode 85

Jeff had the opportunity to talk with author Rick R. Reed this week and they discuss his spring releases The Perils of IntimacyUnhinged and Orientation as well as his writing journey and what’s coming up later this year. We also review books (jeff loved Senator’s Secret by K.C. Wells) and talk about some of our favorite TV shows as the Fall season wraps up. All this and more can be found at BigGayFictionPodcast.com!

The Big Gay RT Round-Up – BGFP episode 83

Jeff and I spend the bulk of this episode talking about our experience at the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention (we loved it btw), including the panels we attended and people we talked with.  While there, we gave a talk on podcasting that went very well (if we do say so ourselves). We also announce a giveaway for an RT17 tote bag filled with books and swag that listeners in the U.S. and Canada can register to win via a Rafflecopter. Be sure to check it out at BigGayFictionPodcast.com!

Romantic Times in Atlanta

Hey everybody! Jeff and I survived our first ever Romantic Times Booklovers Convention! We spent five days at the Hyatt in downtown Atlanta going to panels and parties and having a grand ole’ time. The first two days were spent in a workshop with Cherry Adair. We covered plotting and characterization and got to have a one-on-one brainstorming session with Cherry herself about our current writing project. The rest of our week was spent at different panels, some much great information! On Friday we gave our own presentation on podcasting and it went really well. We hung out with a bunch of our author friends and came home with swag and books… overall, we’re super happy with how everything went. If you’d like a more in depth look at how we spent our week, you can checkout episode 83 of the BigGayFictionPodcast.
